Our group started up with the logistics division at the end of 2016. The logistics division is the authorized transporter for handling hazardous wastes, certified by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB).
Tirupur, being the hub for garment manufacturing in India, has a lot of dyeing units for coloring textile fabrics. In the dyeing process, several chemicals are added to the water source, posing a huge threat to the environment. To negate the effect on the environment, there are several effluent treatment plants (ETPs) in the region. These ETPs use lime-based chemicals to remove color and impurities from the water source. The residue from this treatment is known as sludge, which needs to be properly disposed of.
We are now majorly involved in transporting this chemical sludge from the textile dyeing units in and around Tirupur, ensuring it is safely transported for co-processing as per the norms of TNPCB. These are transported using specially designed tipper trucks with hoods, which prevent any spillage on the road and safeguard the environment.
Apart from dyeing sludge, we are also involved in the transportation of other hazardous wastes like paint sludge, chemical sludge, and various other related commodities.
Currently, the logistics division is operating with six trucks specifically designed to handle hazardous waste from industries, providing significant support for clearing waste in an eco-friendly manner.
